Jamie Bruesehoff led a moving and inspirational talk and discussion on supporting God's gender-diverse children at Grace Lutheran's first iteration of "A Walk in Our Shoes". She moved us through sharing her experiences raising her transgender daughter, how she and her family navigated with love and compassion. We saw how big of a difference love and kindness makes. When we don't understand, we ask gentle questions to learn. When someone is put down for expressing themselves, we raise them back up with love. Jamie's talk was an important reminder that we are all God's children, and no matter our gender identity, we all are deserving of love and grace.

We are grateful to Jamie for coming to Grace and sharing her story with gender diversity and continuing to fight for equity on behalf of all those struggling today. As we walk forward from this event, let us walk with God and support those who are in need. The LGBTQ+ community faces many hardships today. There are many organizations that provide support, fight for equity, and spread love to all. Supporting gender diversity comes in many different packages - researching and educating yourself and those around you; volunteering at LGBTQ+ supporting events; or making financial contributions to supporting organizations. Let us spread love, compassion, and serve with faith. Go in peace, share the good news. Walk with the grace of God.
