Food Pantry of Morris County - Canned goods and staples are collected at church and delivered to the food pantry on Hanover Avenue. Item of the month is listed in Channels. Grace also takes a turn with other churches delivering items collected at Mendham King's Supermarket.
Habitat for Humanity: Morris County & Newark - Members of Grace have been dedicated supporters of this program for several years. Volunteers help on assigned workdays in the construction and rehabilitation of homes. There are also opportunities to serve on governing boards and committees for both affiliates.
Hunger Appeal - Designated gifts to the ELCA World Hunger Appeal may be given at any time. The congregation designates all special Lenten offerings to this purpose.
Meals on Wheels - Volunteers deliver hot prepared meals from the Chester Nutrition Site to the elderly and homebound in the Mendham area. Grace volunteers serve weekdays during April and October.
Quilters - Simple machine stitched and tied quilts are made from donated new fabrics, used sheets, drapes, tablecloths, etc. They are shipped to Lutheran World Relief and then sent to domestic and foreign disaster areas. The Quilters meet every Wednesday morning.
Shelter Dinner - The Morris Shelter on E. Hanover Avenue provides meals and rooms for individuals and families who become homeless. Grace members cook and serve dinner five times a year, usually a Friday, 4:00 - 7:00 PM. All food for the dinner is picked up at Grace and must be cooked at the Shelter. Three volunteers are needed. Contributions to purchase the food are encouraged.
