Baptism
-
This
sacrament
of
adoption
as
God's
child
and
rebirth
by
the
Holy
Spirit
is
for
both
children
and
adults.
All
baptisms
are
held
during
Sunday
services
and
should
be
scheduled
with
Pastor
Petersen.
Church Secretary - Office hours for the church's secretary are from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, Tuesday through Friday. Phone messages for the secretary or Pastor Petersen may also be left at 973-543-7595. The fax number at Grace is 973-543-5736. E-mail is gracemendham@att.net.
Counseling - The Pastor is trained to provide short term counseling to members seeking guidance and/or support in times of crisis or stress. Pastor will also refer members to more highly skilled therapists as needed.
Funerals - This service of worship is best held in the church to commend a loved one to God's care and to draw hope from the promise of eternal life in Christ.
Hospital Visits - If you or a family member should be hospitalized, please call the church office at 973-543-7595 and Pastor will visit.
Membership - Grace welcomes and receives new members into its community on a regular basis. Those interested in joining Grace should contact Pastor Petersen. Instruction is provided for those new to Lutheran Christianity.
Prayer Request - To have prayer concern included in the Sunday service and/or prayer chain, please call the church office at 973-543-7595.
Wedding - This is a service of worship in which a couple vows lifelong faithfulness and the congregation upholds them in prayer. Couples should contact the Pastor to schedule a wedding at least 6 months in advance. Three pre-marriage sessions with Pastor are required. A wedding booklet will be provided to assist in making wedding arrangements. A member of the Worship Committee also is available to assist the couple in their arrangements in the sanctuary.
