The community that Grace serves is located in south western Morris County, New Jersey and the church itself sits in the center of Mendham, which was first settled in the early 1700’s. The members of Grace come from the Mendhams and the surrounding towns of Randolph, the Chesters, Morristown and Morris Township, Peapack/Gladstone and communities in northern Somerset County.

The area is rich in American history. Morristown was the Military Headquarters of the Revolution and George Washington quartered troops in Mendham Township. County, state and federal parks are plentiful and nearby and provide year round passive as well as active recreation.

Morris County hosts several colleges and universities, and the nationally ranked County College of Morris is located in Randolph. The communities that serve Grace provide excellent public and private schools. The area boasts the third largest museum in the state, a community theater, children’s theater, an opera company, symphony, the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival and many local theater groups.

Many opportunities in the community exist for which the members of Grace volunteer. There are county sponsored programs such as Meals-on-Wheels, the county nursing home and the homeless shelter. Local nursing homes, Habitat for Humanity programs, CROP walks, the Food Pantry of Morris County and a soup kitchen sponsored by another Lutheran church provide more areas for service.

Grace is easily reached from Interstate 287 and state routes 24, 202 and 206.
