itself

center

which
was
first
settled
in
the
early
1700s.
The
members
of
Grace
come
from

Mendhams
and
the
surrounding
towns
of
Randolph,
the
Chesters,
Morristown
and
Morris
Township,
Peapack/Gladstone
and
communities
in
northern
Somerset
County.
The
area
is
rich
in
American
history.
Morristown
was
the
Military
Headquarters
of
the
Revolution
and
George
Washington
quartered
troops
in
Mendham
Township.
County,
state
and
federal
parks
are
plentiful
and
nearby
and
provide
year
round
passive
as
well
as
active
recreation.
Morris
County
hosts
several
colleges
and
universities,
and
the
nationally
ranked
County
College
of
Morris
is
located
in
Randolph.
The
communities
that

excellent
public
and
private
schools.
The
area
boasts
the
third
largest
museum
in
the
state,
a
community
theater,
childrens
theater,
an
opera
company,
symphony,
the
New
Jersey
Shakespeare
Festival
and
many
local
theater
groups.

in
the

exist
for
which
the
members
of
Grace
volunteer.
There
are
county
sponsored
programs
such
as
Meals-on-Wheels,
the
county
nursing
home
and
the
homeless
shelter.
Local

Habitat
for
Humanity
programs,
CROP
walks,
the
Food
Pantry
of
Morris
County
and
a
soup
kitchen
sponsored
by
another
Lutheran
church
provide
more
areas
for
service.
